RICS backs sustainable property markets target.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has signed the Copenhagen Communique on Climate Change, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable property.
Together with 500 other global companies, RICS presented the consultation to the secretary general of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon in New York this week.
According to RICS, its goal is to transform environmental policy into adoptable solutions for businesses and the building sector.
Louis Armstrong, RICS chief executive, said: "We believe that there is a clear need to move the debate on climate change from the 'whether to take action' to the 'how to take action' and to find practical solutions for the property and construction sectors.
"We must therefore actively influence governments to ensure that policy achieves the transformation to sustainable property market mechanisms."
In November, RICS will launch a global climate change strategy including a series of lectures, events and seminars on the issue.
