CHARITY BEGINS WITH HOMES

A private client of Ask-re, AGSiml Limited has acheived a long-held ambition to do something effective and long-term for local people in need of low-cost rented homes.

Some years ago, this commitment was implemented by the purchase of a property in Henlow village. The plan was to get permission to knock down the dilapidated and vandalised house which was standing empty and beyond saving, to let the plot be redeveloped with 6 new houses and 6 new flats, for local people in need to rent long-terms at low rents.

However, a long planning permission process was needed, which became a protracted process with the planning authroity and local council, despite all the blockages and hurdles, all now overcome, Ask-re's client has succeeded in getting the actual building project under way at last.

Working in partnership with Parrot Construction, a high-quality builder from Bedford and Paradigm Housing Association based in Buckinghamshire, the construction phase is due to begin in later Spring/Summer 2020, with the new homes being available to new tenants in Summer 2021.

These homes will be top-standard 2-bed houses and 1-bed flats, situated in a lovely edge-of-village spot with uninterrupted rural farmland views and close to RAF Henlow, Arlesey railway station and the facilities of Henlow village. Tenants will be very pleased with their lovely new Parrot homes and looked after by Paradigm's experienced social housing managers. Best of all is that these homes will be available to rent for many, many decades to come.

The benefits of these nice homes will add up to many happy years for many people and be a very satisfactory payback on all the efforts by Ask-re's client to bring this about, having invested its own money, time and extensive trouble in getting this much-needed charitable outcome actually delivered. A desire to, and the objective of "giving something back", have led to further charitable projects being generated by Ask-re's client. Success breeding success, benefits being widely spread to those most in need, what's not to be happy about?
